Beach boy pacer out to make own name |
Port Stephens-trained
pacer Magical Mike wants to show his American namesake that he can also
make it to the top echelon of harness racing , starting with a win in the
$18,000
Mark Colin Packaging Inter City Pace final at Maitland tomorrow night.
The New Zealand-bred Magical Mike is trained and driven by Boat Harbour
reinsman Les Kosklin.
He is enjoying his life of beach training so much that has gone from being
an ordinary low-class pacer to a potential open-class horse.
The five-year-old gelding shares his name with one of the best American-bred
pacers of the 1990's.
The American Magical Mike was trained by one of the legends of the sport,
the great Tom Haughton.
